9ish Hours Left For Monthly Contest

I’ll be randomly choosing a winner later tonight when I write the blog review for Ella’s new set (273), so deadline is 9pm PST. Which is 8 hours, 55 minutes from the time I wrote this sentence.

Entering in the contest is easy. Simply click here and donate to the site. Each dollar you donate gives you one entry into the contest. So if you donate $10, that’s ten entries. At 9pm PST, I’ll use a random number generator to pick a number based on the total number of entries. Easy. In the blog review tonight, I’ll post the winner. If we go over our goal of $400, I’ll pick two winners. Even if it’s just $1 more, I’ll still pick two winners.

The winner (or winners) will receive a 1 month membership to a site of their choice. Normally I say that the site has to be one listed on Web Models Index. Instead, it can be any site (as long as it is legal in the United States, and the membership fee is less than $45).

We’ve had two new donations since the last Ella set. One was from Mike M. for $10, and one from Richard W. for $20. Putting us up to $213 with $187 left to go.

So not only are you helping out with Web Models Index server costs, you’re also getting the chance to win a membership to a website that you normally wouldn’t pay for because your wife would find out and murder you. Donate today!

Monthly Contest

Sorry it’s late, been swamped with so much crap.

Okay, here it is. The monthly contests has started. Actually, it started a little more than 3 days ago, but hey, better late than never. Right not it’s a lottery type system, but hopefully I can expand on it at a later time.

Contest Details:

The winner of this months Monthly Contest will win a 1 month subscription to a site of their choice (site must be one listed on webmodelsindex.com). Current participants are listed at the bottom of this post. This post will be updated throughout the contest.

How To Enter:

Entering is simple. Click this link, and donate anywhere from 10 cents to $1,000,000 (Sorry, won’t accept anything over a million). For every 10 cents you donate, your name get’s entered into the drawing. For example, donate $1 and your name gets entered 10 times. Donate $10, and your name gets entered 100 times. You can donate over and over, it doesn’t need to be done at one time, and each donation gets your name thrown into the pot.

When making the donation, click the link to leave me a comment. In that comment, tell me a name or handle that you would like to use for the contest list at the bottom. Also, provide a working email address that I can reach you at in case you win.

If you are signed up on Web Models Index, donating will also go towards your rank. This goes for all previous and future donations ever made to the site. Please contact me with the email you used to send the donation, or if you forgot which email, let me know your name used to make the donation so that I can upgrade your status. Right now upgrading your status on webmodelsindex.com doesn’t really do anything except change the color of your name when logged in, but more things are in the works.

Bonus:

For this month only, every $35 (total between everyone) donated will increase the number of winners. For example, if $37 total was donated between everyone, there will be two winners instead of one. If $76 was donated, then we will have 3 winners. Next month there will only be a maximum of 2 winners (assuming the donations reach above $35). Reason being, I have bills to pay :)

Update 2: User Groups

This post will cover some of the new features being added to the new Web Models Index. They are subject to change at any time, though more than likely what I cover here will be on the new site. Some if it’s already coded, some of it still needs to be done.

User Groups:

For those users who sign up (no reason not to), there will be user groups you can belong to. Here is a list of the groups, and what is needed to reach them, as well as some rewards for reaching some of them.

User – Everyone starts out here. You have access to the full site.

Power User – You obtain this group once you have made at least 200 votes (with a rating of 3, 4 or 5) and at least 20 comments on models, galleries, images or videos. Only 50 votes per day will be counted.

Elite User – This group is obtained by making at least 1500 votes and at least 150 comments on models, galleries, images or videos. Only 50 votes per day will be counted, and they must be either a 3, 4 or 5.

VIP – To gain this group, you must make a donation to the site of at least $10. This group bypasses all 3 user groups. So if you sign up to the site, then make a donation a minute later, you gain this rank. This is a permanent rank. You will not lose your VIP status. This bypasses needing to become an Elite User, and will count towards becoming a Power or Elite VIP.

Power VIP – This group is gained by making a donation of at least $50. It doesn’t need to be donated all at once. $5 a month for 10 months will qualify you for this user group. This bypasses needing to become an elite user.

Elite VIP – Donating at least $150 will grant you this user group. Like the previous group, it doesn’t need to be done all at once. You also have a chance at the 3rd monthly contest for the the month.

Contest Winner x1 – This group is gained by winning the monthly contest. However, to be able to participate in the 2nd monthly contest, you will need to do whats required to reach Elite User. To participate in the 3rd monthly contest, you will need to do whats required to reach Elite VIP. If you do what’s required to reach VIP, Super VIP or Elite VIP, you will be able to skip what’s needed to become an Elite User.

Contest Winner x3 – This group is gained the same way as the previous group, and all other conditions apply. However, to reach this group, you must have won the monthly contest three times.

Super Member – This group is the highest group a member can obtain. The only way to reach it is if you do the things required to reach Elite User (1500 votes and 150 comments, or buy VIP to skip the voting and comments), Elite VIP (donated at least $150 to the site) and won the monthly contest 3 times.

Moderator – This user group is for those who work on the site. Either by moderating comments, or adding content. Do not ask for this position. I won’t be giving out this rank easily.

Webmaster – That’s me. My username and comments will appear in this color.

So these are the user groups coming to the new site. Some ranks have special rewards for reaching them. They are as follows:

Reach Elite User:

This rank has it’s own monthly contest. So not only do you get to participate in the general monthly contest, but you also have a second chance to win if you didn’t win the first. Only elite users (or higher rank) have a chance at the second monthly contest. If an elite user wins the first monthly contest, they are not eligible to win the second one for that month. However, all other elite users have a chance to win the second.

Reach Elite VIP:

Like the elite user, elite VIPs also have their own monthly contest. You have 3 chances to win. Rules and conditions apply to all contest rules. Out of those 3 chances, you can only win 1. Also, upon reaching this rank, you will receive either one 3 month membership to a site of your choice, or three 1 month memberships to 3 sites of your choice.

Obtain Contest Winner x3:

As soon as you win 3 monthly contests, you will get one extra 1 month membership to a site of your choice (so on your 3rd win, you get 2 sites instead of 1). Even though this rank is higher than Elite VIP and Elite User, you will not be allowed to participate in the 2nd and 3rd monthly contest for the month, unless you obtain those ranks beforehand, or do whats required to reach them afterwards.

Reach Super Member:

Reaching this rank will take time, and a lot of effort on your part. By reaching this rank, you would need to complete the other ranks, so the perks attached to those ranks will continue with this rank. However, you will have access to the 4th monthly contest each month. Only super members will be able to participate in this contest. Since a lot of people won’t be reaching this rank, the few who do will be winning a lot.

New Monthly Contests

It seems the current monthly contest, the banner contest, wasn’t very popular. At the time of this post, there was only one submission. So instead of having people use creativity to win a 1 month free membership, I decided I’m going to change the way people can win.

Once the new site goes live, there will be two types of monthly contests. One will be a lottery/bingo system, where you choose 7 numbers, and each day a number will be randomly chosen via php coding. The first person who get’s all 7 numbers, will win. No one is allowed to choose 7 of the same numbers, and you can choose your 7 numbers on any day of the month. However, if you do not pick your numbers before the lottery system starts, when you do pick your numbers, you won’t be allowed to choose numbers which were already drawn.

For example, if you logged in on the 7th of the month, and the numbers “3, 7, 13, 19, 22, 27 and 29″ were already drawn, you may not choose any of those numbers as part of your 7. The sooner you pick your numbers, the sooner your chances are of winning. You may think that waiting allows you to win easier since you have 7 numbers out of 23 instead of 7 numbers out of 30, but when you think about it, those first 7 numbers could have been ones you already chose.

Once you do choose your 7 numbers, you won’t need to change them again for future lottery contests. You can if you want, but you don’t need to. You can keep those numbers forever. Which also means you will be the only one who has them, since no one can have the same 7 numbers are you. This ensures that there is only one winner each month. People could have 6 of the same numbers, but never 7. Don’t worry, there are plenty of different combinations of numbers. 21,870,000,000 to be exact.

The second type of monthly contest will be a scavenger hunt. I will edit one random image on the site (that only members can see), and the first member who finds it, wins. Sounds easy, right? Well, it’s not. At the time of this post, there are anywhere from 50,000 to 65,000 images (I don’t know the exact number).

The scavenger hunt requires active participation to win. Whereas the lottery contest does not (You only have to log in once to enter your numbers). Each month will rotate between the two.

Winners of the monthly contest can not win again for 3 months (so if you win in July, you’re not eligible to win again until November). Winners will also get their name displayed as a different color for comments, and will have the option of being able to turn off ads on the site. And of course, winners will also win a 1 month free membership to a site of their choice.
